- Safety inspection — biennial (every two years) statewide. Annual in St. Louis city/county.
- Emissions — in St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas for 1996+ vehicles. Pre-1995 exempt.
- Titling — Department of Revenue with federal import documentation.
Notes for European Imports
The safety inspection covers basics. Outside St. Louis and KC, only the biennial safety check applies. Pre-1995 imports skip emissions everywhere.
Recommendation
Manageable for imports. Not burdensome even in metro areas.
